In a recent talk, well-known 'agilist' Alistair Cockburn described the nature of software development. Among other things he claims that software development is about 'technology. people. value' (in our words, not his), and points out where scalable design fits (again in our words, not his): software development as a co-operative game that is open-ended or infinite.
